Also includes description of her married life and early widowhood; career as a foster home matron and operator of the Stockton Day Nursery; work in the Stockton Annex of the Naval Supply Department, which led to editorship of the base newspaper, the Rough and Ready Acorn; years as editor of the California Historian; and retired life.
